In September, Calvient had the opportunity to sponsor and exhibit at the Oklahoma Primary Care Association Annual Conference. For us, the decision to support OKPCA came down to two things: our connection to Oklahoma and our belief in the importance of primary care.
Calvient is an Oklahoma-based company, with our team living and working throughout the state. That makes supporting organizations working to improve the health of Oklahoma communities especially meaningful to us.
"We love Oklahoma," said Calvient CEO, Jonathan Minson. "We care about the communities around us and want to invest in organizations that are making Oklahoma healthier.”
That mission aligns closely with the work of OKPCA and the community health centers it represents. Community health centers provide essential care to patients across Oklahoma, including many communities that have historically had fewer healthcare resources available to them.
Technology as Part of the Solution
One of our biggest takeaways from the conference was the importance of technology to the future of community health centers.
During the event, the president of the National Association of Community Health Centers spoke about the need for health centers to embrace advanced technology. It was a message that resonated with our team. Community health centers may not always have access to the same resources as large health systems, making the ability to innovate and operate efficiently even more important.
“Our goal is to give community health centers access to advanced technology that helps their teams operate more efficiently, serve more patients, and remain strong and viable for the communities that depend on them,” Minson said.
Calvient helps healthcare organizations automate many of the repetitive and time-consuming operational workflows that compete for staff attention every day. For community health centers in particular, our goal is to make that technology accessible which is why we offer special pricing for FQHCs.
The OKPCA Annual Conference reinforced why this work matters. We left encouraged by the people and organizations working to strengthen primary care across Oklahoma and excited about the role technology can play in supporting them.
Our motivation for sponsoring OKPCA was ultimately simple: we love Oklahoma, we believe in primary care, and we want to use what we have built to strengthen both.
